In 1973, feminist writer/child advocate Gloria Grey published her seminal best-seller We Are A Gentle Angry People: The Rise of Orphan Smack Addiction in the Latter Half of the Twentieth Century. Though it was often filled with inaccuracies, misconceptions, factual errors, and plagiarized portions of unpublished Jacqueline Suzanne novels, it managed to catch of eye of community leader, Marion Barry – the godfather of the anti-Smack movement of the early 70s.

Though unlikely partners, Gray and Barry joined forces to lay the groundwork of what was to become Fight Smack in the Orphanage (FSITO) by organizing the first citywide “Smack-down” in Los Angeles in 1974. Later that year, with help from several government grants and the proceeds of Ms. Gray’s lucrative mail order macramé business, they opened the first FSITO Rehabilitation Center on Crenshaw Boulevard in L.A.

Over the next thirty years, more than one-hundred FSITO Centers opened their doors in locations all across the United States and Guam. These centers are no longer just places that kids can get clean, but symbols of hope that inspire the entire community. Some also offer Pilates.

Sadly, the battle is not over. There are still thousands of Smack-addicted orphans on the streets looking for their next fix.

FSITO refuses to give up. We know that with your help and support we can fight Smack and save the orphans.

www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com

The Tri-Island Area, CA – During the Golden Age of Piracy, men (and women, but mostly men) of ill repute harassed the shipping lanes of the European super powers, engaging in so many acts of piracy that it triggered a Golden Age (lasting 8 turns). Today, piracy is a distant memory (relative to your proximity to South-Eastern Africa), with the majority of pirates having been ground to dust over two hundred and fifty years ago (those who remain have found safe harbor on the internet, where they routinely violate copyright laws). But during the glorious Golden Age that produced such notable scoundrels as Henry Morgan, Charles L. Charles, and “Blackbeard” Edward Teach, rumor spread of Guerrilla Island, somewhere deep in the Caribbean, which held the greatest pirate treasure of all, though none knew for certain what that treasure was.

To this very day, the treasure’s nature and exact location remain a mystery, which is why on June 28, 2009 at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla invites one and all, near and far, to join us in an attempt to uncover The Secret of Guerrilla Island!

No Disqualification Match
Necro Butcher vs. Joey Ryan

– When Chris Hero stepped aside to allow Roderick Strong to team with Bryan Danielson at DDT4, Hero offered a shot at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title to any person in the building that night, which Joey Ryan very eagerly accepted. Joey, worried that his thirteen month title reign could be eclipsed by Chris Hero’s reign, was beaten by Hero, but Joey still has not given up his pursuit. At this point, it is more about making sure Chris Hero does not surpass Joey’s record than it is really about winning the Championship. With Hero in Japan as his reign enters its’ eleventh month, he will be unable to defend the title at The Secret of Guerrilla Island, adding more and more days to his title reign.

This fact has not escaped Joey Ryan’s notice, and it distresses him greatly. His calls to the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Board of Directors demanding that Hero be stripped of the title for lack of defenses have gone unreturned, so Joey has taken drastic measures: he’s Twittering about it. Reaching out to upwards of tens of hundreds of people seems to have worked out for Joey, because Chris Hero took time out of his busy schedule to not only read Joey Ryan’s 140 character complaint, but to address it as well.

“At DDT4, I think I proved to just about everyone that I am more than willing to put the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship on the line against anyone, and beat them fair and square. After watching thirteen months worth of title defenses from Joey Ryan, I saw a lot of cheating, and very little reason why he should be proud of that reign. But I did notice something else: one of Joey’s toughest matches was against a good friend of mine, Necro Butcher. If Joey were willing to face Necro in a rematch at The Secret of Guerrilla Island, it would show me that he’s got a lot of heart. If Joey were to beat Necro fair and square, I would consider giving him another title shot… in three or four months, perhaps.”

Joey contends that a victory is a victory, no matter how it comes, but if has to go through Chris Hero’s entire buddy list to get another shot at stopping Hero’s streak, he will. Just as long as it happens prior to August 16, 2009, the day Hero’s reign surpasses Joey’s.

Tag Team Match
Hybrid Dolphins (“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson & Roderick Strong) vs. Men of Low Moral Fiber (Kenny Omega & Chuck Taylor)

– The 2009 DDT4 saw Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, defeat three teams by the narrowest of margins to not only win the tournament, but to also retain the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship. One team was thought of as a long shot, having been defeated by The Young Bucks twice before. The second team was thought of as a joke, two hooligans with nothing better to do than to bully a charitable Mexican lad. The third team wasn’t even scheduled to be a part of the tournament, but they defied the odds only to lose to the Champions in the tournament final. While The Young Bucks reign supreme in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, the tag team division has exploded, reaching its highest level of competition in years. This could mean it’s only a matter of time before The Young Bucks are defeated, and chances are that the team to do it is in this match.

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong, the Hybrid Dolphins, teamed together for the first time ever at DDT4, and after that evening could easily be placed in the top tier of tag teams in the world. At the beginning, they were lead into battle by the “Intrepid Traveler” Paul London, but by the end of the night Danielson and Strong had found their rhythm, and worked like a well-oiled war machine. Together, the Dolphins destroyed the Jackson brothers for close to twenty-five minutes, until Danielson was stunned for three brief seconds, which allowed the Bucks to escape with the victory, the titles, and their lives. Rather than being upset by this loss, the Dolphins took it in stride. After all, they had accomplished much in their first night together, and once they find some richer oil for their war machine, they will be unstoppable.

Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor, united by their hatred of children, particularly those without parents, were the dark horse team at DDT4. It seemed that no one much expected them to win, though they did posses the ability to do so were they to overcome their penchant for tomfoolery. And overcome it they did, advancing to the second round where they met, and were defeated by, The Young Bucks. According to many fans in attendance at DDT4, Kenny Omega’s Shinku Hadouken was an Ultra Combo Finish, which should have allowed Omega and Taylor to advance to the finals to face Danielson and Strong. What those fans fail to realize is that, A) there was no sunburst effect occurring at the time of the Hadouken, and B) the life bar at the top of the screen showed The Young Bucks with a sliver of health remaining, possibly as little as 1%. But it was enough for them to come back and win the match, and ultimately the tournament. Unlike the Dolphins, Omega and Taylor have taken this loss quite personally, and now have El Generico, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson all tied for first on their “list.”

While both of these teams suffered setbacks at DDT4, a victory here could provide the winners with the momentum required to ultimately dethrone The Young Bucks. Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong will be able to rely on their high level of technical ability in this tag team encounter, but if DDT4 was any indication, Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor will have the majority of the vocal crowd on their side, effectively giving them home court advantage.

Singles Match
El Generico vs. Scott Lost

– After his team lost to to Bryan Danielson and Roderick Strong in the opening round of DDT4, Scott Lost protested the loss publicly, saying that he and Joey Ryan, The Dynasty, were screwed over by the last minute change in opponents. Joey Ryan would eventually regain his composure enough to challenge Chris Hero later in the evening, but Scott Lost spent the rest of the night, and much of the next two weeks, alternating between sulking and drinking, and at times doing both simultaneously. With June 28 and The Secret of Guerrilla Island rapidly approaching, Scott Lost needs to sober up and get himself back into top condition; there will be no excuses if loses to El Generico with the match announced this far in advance.

El Generico too spent much of the month of May sulking, but for very different reasons. The normally durable generic luchadore had suffered a knee injury which kept him out of action at DDT4, where he would have loved to exact some measure of revenge on Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor. Now that Omega and Taylor are poised to take the tag team world by storm (and have momentarily diverted their attention to The Young Bucks and Hybrid Dolphins), Generico has a chance to return to, and possibly surpass, his top condition. The only thing standing in his way is Scott Lost, and the only thing worse than facing Scott Lost is facing an angry and determined Scott Lost.

Singles Match
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champion Nick Jackson vs Davey Richards

– At The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, Nick Jackson and Davey Richards met as a part of the main event Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship Title Match. The match ended with The Young Bucks victorious, but it was not a decisive victory by any means. The normally agile Richards was caught off guard by Nick Jackson just long enough to be handed the loss, which enraged Richards and lead to Rick Knox running across six counties in an effort to escape Davey’s wrath. Much like famed buccaneer Largo LeGrande, the only thing bigger than Davey Richards’ appetite is his nigh-unquenchable thirst for vengeance; six months after the fact, Davey is only marginally less angry with Nick Jackson than he was in early January. With former partner Roderick Strong moving on to a new team, it is up to Davey Richards to satisfy his rage alone.

Will the beating Nick Jackson endured at the hands of Strong and Bryan Danielson at DDT4 have changed the normally gregarious Young Buck’s attitude and catch Davey unawares? Or will the missing presence of older brother Matt, combined with the violent temper of Davey Richards, prove to be Nick Jackson’s undoing?

Tag Team Match
The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler) vs Malachi “CK” Jackson & Jerome “LTP” Robinson

– After losing to The Young Bucks for the second consecutive event at DDT4, Brandon and Dustin Cutler have been knocked back to square one in their quest for the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship. Though the Cutlers filed an official complaint with the Board of Directors saying there was a kick out prior to the three count in their match at DDT4, the decision in the ring stands, so the Cutler Brothers must move forward. Despite the fact that they may not be as famous as another pair of brothers from the high desert outside of Los Angeles, they know they have what it takes to get another shot at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship, and to be the ones to knock The Young Bucks themselves back to square one.

Even though his debut at DDT4 was unsuccessful, Malachi Jackson had achieved a very important goal: he got his foot in the door, so to speak. And when he heard that his oldest brother Matt wouldn’t be able to make it to The Secret of Guerrilla Island on June 28, Mal thought it would be the perfect opportunity to team up with his brother Nick to show everyone what the Jackson boys are capable of. Nick, in the way of all older brothers, shot down this idea, saying that Malachi had a long way to go before he was on the level of The Young Bucks. Mal, in the way of all younger brothers, grew determined not only to show Nick that he was wrong, but to rub his face in it. Without any other brothers to team with, Malachi Jackson went far afield and found a very eager soul brother: Jerome “LTP” Robinson. Robinson, or “LTP” as he’s often known, is a high flying young up-and-comer here in Southern California who has been patiently biding his time, awaiting an opportunity just like this.

Will the Cutlers be able to regroup after two consecutive losses at the hands of their arch rivals, or will their confidence be shaken to the point where Malachi Jackson and Jerome “LTP” Robinson can make a huge impact in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla?

Singles Match
Human Tornado vs Johnny Goodtime

– When Dark & Lovely (Human Tornado & Scorpio Sky) reunited at DDT4, things were looking up for Human Tornado. Plagued by injuries (and his past) for the second half of 2008, Tornado made his triumphant return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla earlier this year only to come up short again Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion Chris Hero. Post-match, Tornado attempted to bury the hatchet with Hero in what could only be considered as one of the most half-hearted apologies the world has ever seen. Hero would not accept the apology, saying that Tornado’s actions would speak louder than “My bad.” Torn between doing what he wanted to and what he felt was right, old friend and tag team partner Scorpio Sky helped set Tornado on the right path. But mere minutes after reuniting, Sky’s back was re-injured at DDT4, and he is out of action for the immediate future. Will Human Tornado continue down the path of redemption, or without Scorpio Sky there to help him along, will Tornado fall back into his questionable ways?

Caught up in all of this drama is Johnny Goodtime, who much like Malachi Jackson and Jerome “LTP” Robinson, is a rising star in the Southern California wrestling scene. Goodtime (Goodtimebergski, before his family passed through Ellis Island) is known for his high flying and fast paced offense, would like nothing more than to make a name for himself in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in his first outing. Taking on a former World Champion in your first match with a promotion is not an opportunity many receive, and Goodtime is intent on making the most of it.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s The Secret of Guerrilla Island takes place Sunday, June 28, 2009, at 5:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. General Admission tickets are $20 and will be available at the door.
“Activision is working on a game called DJ Hero (think of it as Guitar Hero for house music). Here’s the first shot of the game’s new turntable controller.

It’s notable that all controls seem to be placed on the record, meaning that, just as Guitar Hero can’t teach you guitar, DJ Hero won’t teach you mixing (unless we missed that red, blue and green button standard on vinyl for all these years). Good to know that the musically inclined are keeping those pesky gamers in their place. Look for DJ Hero this fall.” – Mark Wilson

— The company’s groundbreaking DJ Hero expands Guitar Hero’s signature social gaming to all-new consumers with the addition of diverse music genres including hip-hop, R&B, Motown, electronica and dance. Introducing an all-new innovative turntable controller, DJ Hero transforms players into DJs who rule the club scene by creating original mixes of popular songs and music from the world’s most exciting artists and DJs.

After more than 80 animated episodes of the Adult Swim hit Aqua Teen Hunger Force, creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis have developed the first-ever live-action episode. To mark the occasion, they turned to none-other-than Grammy-winning southern soulster and rapper T-Pain to portray the Aqua Teen’s only sane and rational roommate Frylock, whose animated form looks much like a floating box of French fries. Starring as the Aqua Teen’s self-appointed leader Master Shake will be actor Jon Benjamin. The lovable and remarkably stupid Meatwad will be live as well but bare a striking resemblance to an exercise ball, and first-time television actor Dave Long Jr. has been tapped to play the Aqua Teen’s obnoxious neighbor Carl after a lengthy nationwide search. The new season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which continues throughout May on Sunday nights, will conclude with this first-ever live-action episode on Sunday, May 31 at 11:45 p.m. (ET/PT).

Grammy-winning singer-song-writer-producer—and actor—T-Pain burst on the music scene in 2005 and has produced and written a plethora of chart-topping and platinum-selling singles. In addition to the Grammy, T-Pain has garnered “Songwriter of the Year” and “Producer of the Year” honors at the BMI Urban Awards and earned a BET Award. His self-produced third album, THR33 RINGZ, was released last November, debuting at #4 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.

Jon Benjamin is a writer, producer, actor and prolific voice-over actor from Boston, Mass. In addition to writing for Late Night with Conan O’Brien and acting in such television series as Sex and the City and Human Giant, Benjamin has done numerous voice-overs for such animated hits as Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Assy McGee and Home Movies.

For this first-ever live-action episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Adult Swim embarked on a nationwide search, sponsored by Burger King Corporation, for someone to play the character of Carl. The task was daunting: find someone who possesses similar traits to the animated Carl, a simple man who’s endearingly sweaty, hairy, lewd, fashion-challenged, horny, nasty and oftentimes annoying. After sifting through more than one hundred audition tapes, the real-life Carl was found: 23-year-old Dave Long Jr. from Edensburg, Pa.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is created by Matt Maiellaro (12 oz. Mouse) and Dave Willis (Squidbillies) and follows the strange everyday lives of three human-sized food products living in New Jersey.

Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s network offering original and acquired animated and live-action series for young adults. Airing nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (ET, PT), Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network, home to the best in original, acquired and classic entertainment for youth and families, and is seen in 97 million U.S. homes.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, creates and programs branded news, entertainment, animation and young adult media environments on television and other platforms for consumers around the world.

On Friday, May 22, 2009, at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, eight of the best tag teams in professional wrestling will collide at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s DDT4, and tickets for this event are on sale now at the DDT4 Mini-Site! Front Row tickets are $25, and General Admission tickets are $20!

The first match to be announced for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s DDT4 is the opening round contest between Lucha Libre tag team specialists Phoenix Star and Zokre, Los Luchas, and the newly minted duo of Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor.

Phoenix Star and Zokre were a part of 2008′s DDT4, where they advanced to the second round, but were eliminated by the eventual tournament winners, Roderick Strong and Jack Evans. This year, Los Luchas are intent on making it all the way through the finals, and walking away with the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship if The Young Bucks come into DDT4 with the titles.

Kenny Omega and Chuck Taylor may not have the years of experience that Los Luchas have, but they do have plenty of pluck, moxy, and grit, which when combined with their love of the antic, is a potent combination. Omega and Taylor’s mission in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla their lives is the utter destruction of El Generico and his orphanage, Los Angelitos de El Generico. When Omega and Taylor heard that Los Luchas would be donating their tournament winnings to the orphans because El Generico’s injury prevented him from competing in the tournament, that was all the motivation they needed to make sure Los Luchas wouldn’t advance past the first round.

If they are able to deal with Phoenix Star and Zokre in the opening round of 2009′s DDT4, will Kenny Omega nad Chuck Taylor be able to pull it together and focus on their second round opponents? Or will Los Luchas’ wealth of tag team experience give them an edge over this brand new team? Find out on May 22 at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s DDT4!

On May 22, 2009 at American Legion Hall #308 in Reseda, CA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s DDT4 will feature:

DDT4 Block A Opening Round Match
Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) vs. Kenny Omega & Chuck Taylor

Also scheduled to be in action:

– The Dynasty (Scott Lost & Joey Ryan)

– Chris Hero & Roderick Strong

– “American Dolphin” Bryan Danielson & “Dolphin Master” Paul London

– The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler)

– The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

– Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)

Plus more!

KOGI : AN IDEA BORN FROM LATE NIGHT HUNGER.

We take the taste of Korean BBQ and fuse it with select spices to create some of the most unique and savory bites in LA. We’re always on the go, which means we’ll be updating our new locations soon and you can always find us live on Twitter. Fusing the taste of Korean BBQ and the portability of tacos and burritos together doesn’t magically happen. In case you were wondering, here are the people who make all of this possible.

Check the website for weekly updates and what late night spot they will posted up at. Just FYI, get their early…. lines usually build up with more than 50 people there, even before the truck gets to the location.

March 20 — When we first announced the participants for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Ninety-Nine and One Hundred (taking place on Aprill 11 & 12 with tickets available right now on the Mini-Site) there was rampant speculation about what the matches would actually be taking place. There were some matches that seemed like lay-ups, sure things, or as close to a sure thing as you can get in professional wrestling. There were others that fell into the realm of the “dream match,” matches with such fantastic potential they could only take place in a ring made of clouds, with an angelic chorus to accompany the action. But there was one match that stood firmly in both categories. We are pleased to announce that the highly anticipated match will be a reality, when on Saturday, April 11 at Ninety-Nine, Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, will defend the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship against none other than Abdullah The Butcher and “The Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan, The Dungeon of Doom.

…don’t be stupid, they’ll be putting the titles on the line against Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, the Motor City Machine Guns!

Also at Ninety-Nine, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion Chris Hero, with Candice LeRae in his corner, will defend the championship title against Austin Aries. Aries, who has been on a bit of a hot streak of late, would love not only to become the fourteenth World Champion, but to also gain some measure of revenge from their first Pro Wrestling Guerrilla encounter all the way back at Uncanny X-Mas! Plus, another old rivalry will be rekindled as Scorpio Sky and “The Professional” Scott Lost will find themselves on opposite sides of a 6-man tag team match! Scorpio Sky will be teaming up with Phoenix Star and Zokre, Los Luchas, who have their sights set on the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship titles! Scott Lost will be teaming up with The Cutler Brothers, Brandon and Dustin, who are looking for a title shot as well!

On Sunday, April 12 at One Hundred, “Classic” Colt Cabana, who made his surprising return at Express Written Consent, will get another shot at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship as he will take on the winner of Chris Hero/Austin Aries title match at Ninety-Nine! Plus B-Boy, Human Tornado, Scorpio Sky, Chuck Taylor, and The Young Bucks will all be in action!

Tickets for both Ninety-Nine and One Hundred are on sale now at the Mini-Site. If you hope to sit front row for both events, we suggest purchasing your tickets in advance, since those seats are close to selling out.
Ice Cream Man’s mission is to travel the country, eventually the world, giving away FREE ice cream.

Our growing team combines the minds, hearts, skills and resources of adventurous individuals who refuse to adhere to the old business paradigm. We fund this venture through advertising, sponsors, promotions and merchandising, building win-win-win relationships between everyone involved. To date, Ice Cream Man has given away over 170,000 treats. With the goal of giving away half a million ice creams, we’ve still got a long way to go.

If you would like to become a part of this movement, we sure could use your help. Everyone has something to offer, be it a kind word, a review of a band, a few dollars, or a new engine for a ’69 Chevy step van. You can start by simply helping us spread the word.

The last time the fashion industry experienced a female liberation movement was during the “bra burning 60’s.” Bras, high heels, make-up and other items supporting the unattainable, standard of beauty, were lit aflame in a “freedom trash can” to symbolize opposition to sexual oppression.

Traditionally, the women’s wear industry has been flooded with hyper-feminine pieces with low necklines and bias cuts leaving females choice less. With little to no options, females were only recently given quality alternatives.

Since 2005, Hellz Bellz has provided fashion alternatives for the bold fashionista with edgy, tops, jackets, denim and accessories, influenced by all things subversive; from the gritty streets of New York to sexploitation flicks of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Founder Lanie Alabanza, continue to defy all the rules of conformity and any fashion entity that claims a woman’s style cannot breach strength, individuality and feminine flair simultaneously.

For everyone who has been into America’s Best Dance Crew, this crew has been a threat to lookout in the competetive hip hop dance world for a long minute. The Philippine Allstars was started in 2005 by 12 friends who came from different backgrounds, but wanted to collectively represent their country in the World Hip-Hop Championships held in the US. In 2006, Allstars put the Philippines on the map of Hip-hop dance in becoming the first Asian country to win back-to-back World Gold titles in the International Hip-hop Open d’Ítalia in Turin, Italy and in the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships in Los Angeles, California. Now in 2008, they came back strong again and took Gold in the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Check out their website for the “His-Story” documentary movie, which is a progression of their struggle of the weeks before the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships until they take the title once again!!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s presents Express Written Consent on February 21, 2009!
By Silverback, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Staff Writer

Encinitas, CA – Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) Express Written Consent takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 8:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. Doesn’t this part usually go a little later in the write-up? Usually, but this is a special occasion.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s last event, The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, took place on January 10, 2009, without Commissioner of Wrestling Dino Winwood present to oversee the action. Many people wondered where Dino Winwood was that evening, since, after all, what could be more important to the Commissioner than Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s first show of 2009? It turns out, Dino Winwood had a business dinner. Due to the other party’s busy schedule, the only day available for the meeting was January 10, and dinner reservations at Dino’s preferred meeting place, Lawry’s The Prime Rib of Beverly Hills, were somewhat tough to come by. But after greasing a few palms, the reservation was made for 8:25 PM, the meeting was set, and Dino Winwood was going to cement his position as the best Commissioner Pro Wrestling Guerrilla had ever seen. The evening of the meeting, 8:25 PM came and went, as did the giant silver carts that the prime rib is served from. “It appears sir is dining alone tonight. Is sir ready for his entrée?” the waiter would ask, but Dino Winwood refused to proceed with the main course. That would be giving up. Dino would just eat his green salad a little slower, that’s all. “Maybe he’s taking his 90-day No Compete clause literally? Maybe he’s waiting until the minute it expires before he shows up for our meeting?” Dino thought. Unfortunately, the meeting never took place, and the prime rib was salted by tears that night. What had happened to Paul London?

It turns out that Paul London was in Reseda, CA, that night, enjoying the professional wrestling action that only Pro Wrestling Guerrilla can provide. When he realized that his meeting with Winwood was taking place at the same time as The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, London figured that there must have been some sort of mix up. So while Dino Winwood carved his cherry tomato into smaller and smaller pieces, Paul London watched The Young Bucks defend their Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship against Davey Richards and Roderick Strong. So impressed by the victory, Paul London went backstage after the match to congratulate the Bucks, but he found that his old friends Scott Lost and Joey Ryan already had the Jackson brothers’ attention. “You’re lucky we’re wrestling singles match now,” said Joey. “We’d take those titles back in a heartbeat!” finished Scott. Matt and Nick Jackson decided not to take the bait, figuring that if they ignored Scott and Joey for long enough, they’d just go away. But when the Bucks turned their backs, Joey and Scott took the World Championship title belts, snapped the straps together, ran outside, and threw the belts over a phone line, like a pair of sneakers. It was at this point that Paul London had decided he’d seen enough.

“You guys are real jerks,” London stated. “I thought I knew you two, but obviously I don’t.” And that was when everything went pear-shaped. Enraged by this accusation of jerkism, Scott and Joey charged at Paul London, but London was able to avoid the attack due to his natural agility. American Legion Post Commander, Legion Larry, was not so lucky, as The Dynasty caromed off a wall and into him. What erupted after that could accurately be described as a Pier One brawl, though there were no sailors or rattan chairs present.

After Scott Lost, Joey Ryan, and the Legion staff were separated, the former Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions shouted back at their now former friend Paul London. “We don’t need you anymore! We’ve got a new friend who is more famous and better looking than you are!” shouted Scott. “Yeah, he got beat up by Kurt Angle and Riki Choshu on the same night! He’ll kick your ass! All of youse!” yelled Joey as he was unceremoniously dumped in the gutter.

The following Monday morning, Dino Winwood received a telephone call. On the other end of the line was a voice that he never expected to hear again. “Dino, it’s Paul. I’m sorry about Saturday night. I guess there was just a little miscommunication. Listen, I want a match at the next show. How about The Young Bucks and I take on Scott, Joey, and their friend Karl. I think those three need to learn a little respect, and the Jacksons and I are the ones to teach them.” Dino Winwood began to weep again, but this time, they were tears of joy.
Six-Man Tag Team Match
Paul London & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Dynasty (“The Professional” Scott Lost & Joey Ryan) & The Dynasty International (Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson)

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Express Written Consent takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 8:00PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, and is scheduled to also feature:
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship Title Match
Chris Hero (Champion) vs. Human Tornado (Challenger)

– After the brutal World Championship Title Steel Cage Match at Life During Wartime, former champion Human Tornado was injured. Seriously injured. Numerous contusions, a cracked rib, bruises everywhere, and three torn ligaments in his knee meant Tornado wouldn’t be getting his title back any time soon. He wouldn’t be doing anything any time soon, actually. With little more to do than lay in bed and think, Human Tornado began to reflect on what got him to this point in his life, flat on his back and barely able to walk across the room. Was it really Chris Hero’s fault, or was it something larger? Maybe it was Candice LeRae’s fault. After all, she cost Tornado his match with CIMA at the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles. When the match was over, Chris Hero came to Candice’s aid, and that’s really where this whole thing started. Who was responsible?

With months of recovery and introspection behind him, Human Tornado believes he is a changed man. A more humble man. No longer does he harbor anger toward Candice LeRae, nor is he angry at Chris Hero for the knee injury. No, Human Tornado was able to trace all his problems over the last 18 months back to a single thing, a single genetic trait: hair color. Every time Human Tornado has had a problem, a blonde has always been at the root of it. Candice LeRae, Chris Hero, even Rick Knox! So Human Tornado has adopted a policy that he thinks will bring him back to the top of the professional wrestling world: no more blonde bitches. They’re nothing but trouble! With that new outlook, Human Tornado is ready to cash in his rematch clause and get his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship title back. After that, the sky is the limit, but one thing is guaranteed: there won’t be any blondes along for the ride.

Hair color aside, Chris Hero still presents a formidable challenge for Human Tornado to overcome. Having not defended his World Championship title in North America since All Star Weekend 7, Chris Hero is eager to remind the fans of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla why he is the World Champion. Tornado’s past actions toward both Candice LeRae and Hero make it hard for anyone to believe that he is a changed man, but Chris Hero is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. But Chris Hero knows best of all what Human Tornado is capable of, and if this title match turns into a street fight, Chris Hero will be ready for it.
Best 2-out-of-3 Falls Match
“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. TJ Perkins

– At the 2008 Battle of Los Angeles, TJ Perkins was narrowly defeated by his former mentor and trainer, “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson. Now. feeling that he’s accomplished all he can on the West Coast, TJ Perkins has decided to seek his fortune along the Eastern Seaboard. But before he leaves his bright and sunny Southern California home, TJ Perkins wants another shot at Bryan Danielson. Imagine what having a victory over the “American Dragon” on the wrestling résumé of TJ Perkins would mean!

Danielson admitted that his match at the 2008 Battle of Los Angeles was tough and even closer than he would have liked. TJ Perkins has come a long way since he studied the art of professional wrestling under Bryan Danielson’s watchful eye, and Danielson would love to give TJ another shot. However, senior Pro Wrestling Guerrilla official Rick Knox noted that TJ Perkins bent the rules of professional wrestling to very near their breaking point in his last encounter with Danielson, and if Perkins is to get another shot, potential rule-breaking must be taken into account. So, under the advisement of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla officiating staff, TJ Perkins will take on “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson in a Best 2-out-of-3 Falls match at Express Written Consent on Saturday, February 21. Late yesterday, “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson sent a message to the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla offices via semaphore adding that if Perkins is able to win the match, Danielson will put his name forward as the top reference on TJ’s wrestling résumé! It looks like TJ’s last match as a resident of Southern California could be his most important one, too!
Singles Match
El Generico vs. Kenny Omega

– Prior to The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, fans learned of the budding rivalry between El Generico and Chuck Taylor, a rivalry based exclusively on orphans and pancakes. El Generico loves helping children, orphans especially, and once financed an orphanage in his home town of Tijuana, Mexico. Chuck Taylor, on the other hand, hates children of all kinds, but orphans especially, and sees government money going to orphan-related programs as government money going away from the Chuck Taylor Pancake Stimulus Package, a program designed to put a stack of pancakes on Chuck Taylor’s plate every morning for the next 50 years. But what does this have to do with Kenny Omega?

During his formative years, Kenny Omega was a dedicated student who excelled at both schoolwork and athletics. He was captain of his school’s curling team, class president, and represented Finland in the Model United Nations. However, all of this would come to a screeching halt on a fateful fall day. On this day, Kenny Omega decided to walk home from school rather than take the bus, as it was unseasonably warm outside. Luckily for Kenny, he knew his route home would take him by a local convenience store where he could refresh himself and take a break from the heat. As he pushed through the door, he noticed a group of kids in the corner of the store, crowded around an arcade machine. Armed with the 75 cents left over from his Tater Tot lunch, young Kenny Omega approached the arcade machine, and it turns out that would be the first day of the rest of his life.

Of course, the marquee on the arcade machine read Street Fighter II, and so consumed by this game, Kenny Omega stopped participating in all extracurricular activities. Finland was without their delegate, his curling team was without their Lead, but even then, Kenny was only the second best player at that convenience store. It turns out that his Street Fighter II rival, Osbert Alpha, was an orphan, and while Kenny Omega was wasting time learning composition and dissecting owl pellets, Osbert was mastering the art of E. Honda! With no parents to force him to go to school, Osbert’s days were filled with Super Zutsukis, and he was able to compile a report on frame data, fighter health, damage percentages, and even a rudimentary tier system, while Kenny was stuck learning Algebra! Since then, Kenny Omega has harbored a deep acrimony toward orphans and has made it his mission to destroy all orphans and orphan enablers, both in-game and in-ring. When Chuck Taylor learned of Kenny Omega’s unlikely origin, he was able to harness Omega’s rage and direct it toward El Generico. What will El Generico do, faced with such deep-seated resentment and insurmountable odds? Not even he is sure, but with the North American release of Street Fighter IV coming just days before Express Written Consent, it may distract Kenny Omega just enough for El Generico to come away with a win and come one step closer to reopening Los Angelitos de El Generico.

Plus, hot off his Best Supporting Actor snub for his role in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler, Necro Butcher will take on Austin Aries in a No Disqualification Match that is sure to have ramifications on the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship title picture! Phoenix Star and Zokre, Los Luchas, will also be in action, and much more!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Express Written Consent takes place Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 8:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. General Admission tickets are $20 and will be available at the door.
